Press release of 16th Meeting of the Council for Promoting Tourism in Asia (CPTA 16) in Hanoi

From September 5th to 9th, 2018, under the direction of the Hanoi People's Committee, Hanoi Department of Tourism will hold the Meeting of Council for Promoting Tourism in Asia in Hanoi - CPTA 16 with representatives from CPTA member cities: Tokyo, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Taipei, Metropplitan Manila and Hanoi.
This is the 4th time for Hanoi to host this annual meeting. At the meeting, participant will focus on discussing and reviewing activities implemented during the past years; designing and unifying plans to carry out new projects; proposing measures to promote tourism development in the network of major Asian cities; enhancing responsibilities of State tourism management agencies, strengthening cooperation between municipal governments and tourism agencies and businesses of member cities; as well as other issues related to the cooperation and promotion of the Welcome to Asia Campaign…
CPTA 16 includes these followings:
1. The opening ceremony of the Meeting of CPTA 16
- Time: 9AM to 11AM on Sep 06th 2018.
- Venue: Hanoi Sofitel Legend Metropole Hotel.
2. Internal meeting of CPTA member cities
- Time: 2PM to 5:30PM on Sep 06th 2018.
- Venue: Hanoi Sofitel Legend Metropole Hotel.
3. Tourism Promotion Meeting of member cities of CPTA 16
- Time: 9AM to 11:30AM on Sep 07th 2018.
- Venue: Hanoi Sofitel Legend Metropole Hotel.
4. Tourism Exposition of member cities of CPTA 16
- Time: From September 08th to September 09th 2018.
- Venue: Bat Giac building - Ly Thai To Flower Garden.
5. Visiting program for the participant of member cities of CPTA 16
- Time: September 09th 2018.
- Destinations: Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Van Mieu Quoc Tu Giam, Thang Long Royal Citadel and Bat Trang Pottery Village.
On the sidelines of the event, Hanoi tourism industry will have opportunity to introduce to international friends about a dynamic, friendly and hospitable City; as well as promote tourism potential, cultural traditions, tourism destinations, products and services in Hanoi The sidelines activities also help Hanoi in luring more international visitors with appropriate and attractive tourism programs, contributing to enhance the image as well as role of Hanoi tourism industry in particular and the position of Hanoi in general in the international economic integration process.
The Council for Promotion of Tourism in Asia (abbreviated as CPTA), which includes State tourism management agencies in 10 member cities of the Asian Network of Major Cities 21 (ANMC21): Tokyo, Bangkok, New Delhi, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Seoul, Taipei, Metropplitan Manila, Tomsk and Hanoi. In where, Chairman of CPTA is Director of the Tokyo Bureau of Labor and Industry and the Secretariat of CPTA which is the standing committee of the Council is also under this Bureau.
